we have seen many professionals photographer uses a term called bokeh and we all are confused with this term or we think that it is just a word which represent blur on a image, but it is more than a blur so in so yeah in this article we will discuss about what is bokeh and how you can use it to click stunning looking images.
why bokeh is so popular on professional photographers
since you already have seen some images that has bokeh effect on them they seems to be visually appealing and forcing us or the viewer to just concentrate on a particular area of the image.bokeh creates a visually quality blur around the subject/object.
what is bokeh
in simple words bokeh means the quality of blur means that the quality of the visual part which is in “out of focus”.the bokeh is also known as “boke” and the word
“bokeh” comes from japanese language which means Blue seems to be interesting the japanese words has provided some quality to us :).
don’t be confused on that blur and bokeh are the same term but the blur is just the part of image which is in “out of focus” and the “bokeh” or “boke” is the blur which tells us how your blured background is looking, it is depend in your camera lens optical designs how your blur background is looking,
there are few shapes which can be seen in bokeh effect and these shapes are depends on your cameras aperture diaphragm a lens which has 9 circular blades on its aperture will produce “rounded” shape bokeh.most of the modern camera lens come with these 9 rounded blades on its lens diaphragm which produce the round
light blur effect.
rather than the rounded shapes there are more shapes which are formed by different kinds of lens which has different kinds of blades on their lens aperture one
of the example for this is the “hexagonal shape blur”.this lens aperture contains 7 staright blades which form hexagonal bokeh effect
in more simpler words we can conclude bokeh as the quality the softness of blur and the reflected points of light in your background is called “boke” or ‘bokeh”.
lets take an example of a good bokeh effect image
see the below image what is your thoughts about it,is it having a good bokeh effect or not comment down below
this image do not has a good bokeh effect,so now you will ask me a question “why paras are you fooling us? “
my answer is no guys i am not fooling you because see the image properly you will just see some of the part which is in “out of focus” but there is noting like bokeh exist due to this image just contains a plane blur and nothing else
on these above images you can see these rounded blur reflecting light points or reflections these take a image from plane blur to a good bokeh effect.
now tell me about these images
comment down below what you think?
